What is Woodland Whispers?
The Woodland Whispers project is a collaborative community project which seeks to give people chances to connect their feelings, words, and artistic renderings about nature through poetry, pictures, and pathways.

- To encourage families to enjoy walks outdoors on Smithfield’s nature trails
- To offer the opportunity for people to read poems, write poems, and leave poems in the woods
- To display poems on selected Conservation Commission nature trails in Smithfield on a rotating basis
- To promote reflective thinking and environmental stewardship
- To offer the chance to creatively express thoughts and feelings about nature through writing and art
- To reconnect people with a nature as a way of decreasing stress and improving overall well being
