The Woodland Whispers project is a collaborative community project which seeks to give people chances to connect their feelings, words, and artistic renderings about nature through poetry, pictures, and pathways.
The project’s goals are:
To encourage families to enjoy walks outdoors on Smithfield’s nature trails
To offer the opportunity for people to read poems, write poems, and leave poems in the woods
To display poems on selected Conservation Commission nature trails in Smithfield on a rotating basis
To promote reflective thinking and environmental stewardship
To offer the chance to creatively express thoughts and feelings about nature through writing and art
To reconnect people with a nature as a way of decreasing stress and improving overall well being
Please share your nature-inspired poems, artwork, and/or photography with the Woodland Whispers Project. For inspiration visit the Seven Scenic Walks in Smithfield. For more information about Smithfield’s Seven Scenic Walks, click HERE.
